Great project. It's good to see these worthwhile "experiments" (based on "old" technologies and concepts) getting out of the ground.

Good exposure for sustainbility in Chicago. The design is very reminescent of a project in the dept of architectural engineering. Is this a collaborative effort with other depts at IIT?

This project is clearly similar to the project House of the Future by an "IPRO" team at IIT from two years ago. The House of the Future has had great exposure at IIT being featured in the school magazine and at several events. I wonder if that IPRO team was ever credited at least for the design idea.

The two designs are quite different save for the glass curtain wall and central atrium space and vaguely similar massing. I don't think that the IPRO students invented glass curtain walls or the chimney effect, so no they probably weren't given credit for the design.
